The 52th Kurentovanje in Ptuj is officialy oppened. 59 groups of traditional masks from Slovenia and 12 other countries presented them selves at the oppening parade in Ptuj. The spectators saw almost all Slovenian traditional masks and also masks from Croatia, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Bolgaria, Aruba, Moldavia, Russia and Japan.

Henry van der Kroon, the president of FECC said the 1. EtnoFest parade was unique in the Europe. There were more than 2000 participants in the EtnoFest parade, the group of kurents was composed by 30 different kurent groups from Ptuj and surroundings.
