Kurentovanje 2012 will be held under the motto Ethnic Heritage Connects Continents - its main theme will be ethnological heritage and international cooperation based on it.  For the first time the event will be divided into three parallel ongoing festivals - EtnoFest, KarnivalFest and ArtFest where subject areas are grouped together on the common themes.

With this division we wish to emphasize non-carneval parts of the festival that were a bit neglected in the previous years.
